Elbow Pain & Tendon Care in Pembroke Pines

Most elbow pain we see is tendon-related: pain on the outside of the elbow with gripping and lifting, or on the inside with pulling and repetitive wrist flexion.

You do not have to play tennis or golf to get either. Trade work, keyboards and lifting a child do it just as reliably.

What it feels like

  • Pain gripping a coffee cup, a doorknob or a bag handle
  • Tenderness on a specific bony point at the elbow
  • Ache running down the forearm after a day of typing or tool use
  • Weakness in grip strength
  • Discomfort that lingers into the evening after activity

Common contributors

  • Repetitive gripping and wrist extension at work or in sport
  • A rapid increase in training or manual load
  • Shoulder and neck restriction shifting demand into the forearm
  • Poor tool, racket or workstation setup

This page is general information, not a diagnosis. An exam is how we determine what applies to you.

How we approach elbow pain

  1. 1

    Confirm it's the tendon

We test the elbow and screen the neck, since nerve irritation from the cervical spine can mimic tendon pain in the forearm.

  2. 2

    Calm and mobilize

Soft tissue work to the forearm, plus joint work at the elbow, wrist and mid-back where restriction is found.

  3. 3

    Load the tendon deliberately

Tendons rebuild with progressive, controlled loading. You get a specific, boring, effective home program — that is the part that works.

Questions we get asked

Will a brace fix it?
A counterforce strap can reduce symptoms during activity, but it manages the pain rather than rebuilding the tendon.
How long does tennis elbow take?
Tendon recovery is measured in weeks to months rather than days. We track progress against your grip and function, not just soreness.
Should I stop using the arm?
Complete rest usually leaves the tendon weaker. We modify the load instead so the arm keeps working within a tolerable range.
